It is difficult to turn on
a news channel or open the newspaper without being bombarded with negative headlines
regarding
the
collapse
of
our
environment.
Whether
the
bad
news
is
about
global
warming
or
yet
another
toxic
waste
site, the one thing that seems
clear is
that
the
state
of
the
global
environment
will
get
worse
before
it
gets
better.
In
addition,
the
costs
required
to
fix many of
these
problems
will
be
astronomical.
Who
will
fund
these
solutions? Where will that funding go???
What is not well publicized is information regarding
the
emerging
technologies
designed
to
alleviate
these
problems.
Articles
on
emerging
companies
inventing
and
marketing
products
such
as
CO2
sequesters
and
solar
groundwater
pumps
are
buried
in
trade
journals
and
science
magazines.
Many
of
these
start-up
companies
will
survive
long
enough
to
bring
their
environment enhancing
products
to
market,
and
many
will
not.
