Welcome to the My Greener Investing Newsletter, providing market research investment opportunities for a sustainable future. Our goal is to provide current general research on both established and emerging publicly traded companies that are involved in environmentally friendly technology. Our mission is to attempt to reward investors for saving the environment – without the hype. The newsletter focus includes companies working within the following environmentally sustainable sectors:
- Renewable Energy (wind, solar, hydro power, biomass and geothermal)
- Clean Technologies for Non-Renewable Energy
- Water and Wastewater
- Waste Management
- Site Remediation
- Materials
Our goal is not to promote “buying and selling” opportunities, but to provide information to educated investors to assist in making their own investment decisions. Readers are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence before making any stock purchase. It is impossible to predict unforeseen events which may have a negative effect on stock prices such as corporate lawsuits, SEC violations, or undesirable acts of nature. In addition, past stock history is no guarantee future results. In a decade that has witnessed Enron and Arthur Anderson, Inc. accounting fraud, the back-dating of stock options, and the recent investment bank bail-outs, the odds to make big profits are against the common investor.
Many of the emerging companies that we describe are bulletin board (.ob) or pink sheet (.pk) listed stocks, also known as penny stocks, small-cap stocks, and mid-cap stocks. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) classifies securities that trade at prices under $5 as Penny Stocks. Investing in these types of stocks may be inherently dangerous due to the lack of corporate transparency, the low visibility (lack of interest and regular financial reports) and low tradability (low trading volume and lack of investor interest). Penny stocks may also be trading at low levels due to downward trading pressure “shorting,” and the possibilities of losing one’s entire investment in these penny stocks real. Believe me, this can happen – I’ve seen it! However, the upside of penny stocks is the potential to turn a small investment into a very large return.
We believe that as the world’s population grows and exerts increasing pressure on planet Earth, corporations with the vision and insight to solve the problems associated with the negative environmental impacts are poised to grow as well. And in this age of environmental revolution, all it takes is one. Could it be possible that the technology sector might be dwarfed by the emerging environmental sector? Our goal at My Greener Investing Newsletter is to find the ones that matter, and provide this information to you.
